Menorah lighting

TRAVERSE CITY — Chabad Jewish Community Center of Traverse City is organizing Menorah in The Square at 6 p.m. Thursday in Rotary Square, corner of Union and State streets.

A 9-foot Menorah will be lit on the first night of Chanukah, the Festival of Lights. Donuts, music and raffles are available. Admission is free. RSVP: JewishTC.org/Chanukah.

TRAVERSE CITY — Norte is hosting a Race Team Information Night at 6 p.m. Thursday at Brick Wheels. 

The team is for riders in fourth through 12th grade. The group will begin meeting in 2024. 

Orchestra performance

PETOSKEY — Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra is presenting Handel’s “Messiah” at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Great Lakes Center for the Arts.

Community project grants 

LANSING — The Michigan Community Service Commission will provide grants for volunteer projects around the state.
