Mary Kay Research Reveals Breakthrough Treatment for Skin Aging

Mary Kay Inc. announced research findings that show promise for addressing the appearance of facial expression lines. Mary Kay presented these results at the American Academy of Dermatology Association (AAD) Annual Meeting, sharing that this new treatment could make a “significant impact on understanding expression lines and offer a notable alternative to popular in-office procedures.”

Geetha Kalahasti, Mary Kay Associate Principal Scientist, Upstream Research, Clinical & Scientific Credentialing, explained to those in attendance that the cosmetic formulation, which contains a patented blend of three botanical extracts, mimics the activity of a well-known injectable. Through the study, these three extracts showed the ability to contract muscle cells and calcium flux response, key factors for the development of expression lines.

“Women are looking for holistic alternatives to invasive, often expensive in-office procedures to address facial expression lines,” said Dr. Lucy Gildea, Mary Kay Chief Innovation Officer, Product & Science. “Our research reveals that there are safe, efficient, and comfortable methods that provide compelling skin benefits.”
