Associated Food Stores launches smaller concept, Macey’s Market

Associated Food Stores new Macey’s Market concept has officially opened.

The store opened Nov. 8 in the Pinebrook neighborhood of Park City, Utah.  Macey’s Market stores are designed for smaller and more centralized areas, enabling them to source specific products and tailor stores to individual neighborhoods.

Prior to cutting the ribbon in front of the store’s picturesque storefront, a large group gathered inside to hear remarks from Associated Food Stores execs including Greg Welling, Jan Whiteley, Chris Otteson, Brendon Noble and Store Director, Marci Rodriguez. These speakers thanked the many team members, vendor partners, city officials and others who contributed to the project.

Emphasizing local is at the core of Macey’s Market and the store carries dozens of locally grown and produced items.

Previously a Fresh Market store, the location underwent an extensive and transformative remodel, which includes the addition of an ACE Hardware over the past nine months.

The store’s aesthetic is an illustration of the team’s commitment to the mountain community, with clean, well-lit spaces, a contemporary layout, and warm, welcoming décor. Two murals, crafted by Wayne Dalton, creative director at AFS, beautifully depict the outdoor setting that makes this community unique. AFS marketing specialists Elizabeth Barnett and Jade Romano, worked with Wayne, and partner Decorworx, to create and install the eye-catching décor.

The bakery department, led by Maria Carreno, has been expanded, offering a wider selection of freshly baked bread, cookies, and pastries.

In the delicatessen, Nickie Jackson and her group of delicatessen professionals, offer gourmet sandwiches, handcrafted salads, fresh-rolled sushi, artisan cheeses and Kong Kones. The delicatessen carries many local products including cheeses made just a few miles away.

A new Starbucks location, led by Christine Clevenger, offers an expanded and full Starbucks menu that is extremely popular with Pinebrook residents.

The meat and seafood department, under the careful watch of Bryon Singer and the store’s other phenomenal meat experts, is fully stocked with high-quality cuts, ensuring the store has top-grade selections for meat, including Certified Angus Beef and Prime Pork. Macey’s Market also carries grass-fed, organic, and plant-based proteins, providing a diverse selection to cater to all customer needs.

Led by Grocery Manager Jake Regnier, the store’s center-store shelves are fully stocked with an extensive range of grocery items, from pantry staples to hundreds of local and specialty products, including kosher, gluten-free and vegan options. It also highlights organic and health-conscious items, making it easy for customers to embrace a healthier lifestyle.

Pharmacy Manager Jill Johnson operates an enhanced pharmacy offering a variety of clinical services, including strep testing and treatment, cold sore treatment, and women’s health solutions.

The store’s front end, overseen by Shirlene Yamishiro, is equipped with the latest technology, ensuring a quick and hassle-free payment process, making the checkout experience fast and enjoyable. Additionally, Macey’s Market provides Macey’s Anywhere online ordering with curbside pickup and home delivery services for added convenience.
