Here are the top 3 stories today in Oklahoma City:

  1. Officials are investigating after a plane crashed in northwestern Oklahoma City on Sunday. The incident occurred near Sara Road and the Northwest Expressway around 12:45 p.m., and two people were on board the aircraft. 2. A new summer program offering free, family-friendly shows is coming to Oklahoma City libraries. “Neighborhood Arts” is a partnership between Arts Council OKC and the Metropolitan Library System. Shows will take place every day at 20 libraries across the metro region and will include everything from the Oklahoma Violin Ensemble to operatic performances. (KOCO Oklahoma City)
  3. A local animal shelter has closed temporarily due to a suspected outbreak of a canine upper respiratory infection. Oklahoma City’s animal welfare shelter superintendent announced in an email Monday that the shelter would be closed for at least 21 days in an attempt to limit the spread of infection to other dogs in the area. Shelter staff say nearly 130 dogs experienced symptoms, but no deaths have been reported. (Oklahoman.com)
