COLES COUNTY, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Coles County Memorial Airport received the 2023 Frank G. Brewer Memorial Aerospace Award for the Organization Category.
The airport was nominated by Civil Air Patrol, the award is reportedly one of the highest awards given by the CAP to organizations and individuals inside and outside of CAP who have made significant contributions to the improvement of youth across multiple aerospace activities and projects.

Airports are nominated by CAP members from across the United States, and the Coles County Memorial Airport has been chosen from six Great Lake Region submissions and went on to be the national winner.
The Coles County Memorial Airport manager, Andrew Fearn accepted the award in Washington on behalf of the airport at the National Civil Air Patrol Conference.
