4. The dreaded Christmas rota
You know the rota for Christmas is going up and your heart starts to thump and your hands begin to sweat.
And then you’re working everyday except Christmas. And back in Stephens Day for the sales. Oh and don’t forget that you’ll have people begging you to swap!
5. The worst people come out at Christmas
We don’t know what it is about Christmas but everyone is the worst versions of themselves when they hit the shops.
If you haven’t been shouted at, at least once a day over the Christmas period, you’re lucky.
6. Having to wrap presents (regardless of it’s your job or not)
People expect you to wrap their Christmas presents even if you don’t work in a shop that offers that service.
Then you have to deal with the queue of exasperated people behind them. Yay Christmas!
7. The best stuff is going to be gone by Christmas Eve but customers don’t believe you…
You’ll always have that last minute shopper who wants to buy the most sought after item this Christmas.
At 7pm on Christmas Eve most of the best items won’t be in stock. Unfortunately, most people won’t believe you.
8. Explaining to people there won’t be deliveries over the Christmas period
If you come in on St Stephen’s Day looking for fresh fruit and vegetables, you’ll be sorely disappointed.
Unfortunately, most delivery drivers take Christmas Day off. Shocking, we know!
9. Dealing with your overly festive co-worker
Look, we love Christmas as much as the next person but when we go to work over the Christmas period we want to get in and get out.
There’s always one co-worker who is way too festive and you just want to rip their reindeer ears off them!
10. The sweet relief of going home on Christmas Eve
There’s no better feeling than finishing your shift on Christmas Eve and finally going home.
Just to remember you have to do it all again on St Stephen’s Day!
