GRANITE CITY — Dot Foods has made a sizable donation to the Salvation Army Granite City food pantry and five other area food pantries.
Through the company’s Neighbor to Neighbor program, Dot is providing products from its current inventory for a total donation of $30,000 worth of food and other necessities.
This year’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor recipient pantries also include O.A.S.I.S. Food Pantry in Saint Charles, Great Things, Inc. in St. Louis, St. Nicholas Church Food Pantry in St. Louis, St. Anthony’s Food Pantry in St. Louis and Jeremiah’s Food Pantry i East St Louis.
Each pantry selected products from a shopping list of items in Dot’s inventory that would best address their specific needs. Dot employees will help the food pantry staff and volunteers in receiving and unloading their donations at each location.
“Dot’s Neighbor to Neighbor program is near and dear to our hearts,” said Suzy Parn, director of Dot’s corporate charitable committee. “The program gives all Dot employees a way to become even more connected with their community as they get to know the food pantries while helping with the deliveries. And it gives the recipient pantries the opportunity to request the food and supplies that are most important to them and most needed.”
