Sonoma Community Center is accepting applications for vendor space at its 12th Annual Winter Art Market through Wednesday, Sept. 20.
The market will run from Friday, Dec. 1 through Sunday, 3. Shoppers will wander throughout the center’s historic building to find one-of-a-kind gifts and treasures from more than 50 Bay Area artists.
It has become a staple art sale in Sonoma Valley, attracting more than 1,000 visitors from around the Bay Area. Unlike other shopping events taking place around the holidays, at Winter Art Market, vendors are chosen by a jury and all items must be handcrafted.
The sale traditionally includes ceramics, fiber art, printmaking, painting, jewelry, culinary delights, clothing, sculpture and more. It offers a festive shopping experience with live music and other holiday treats throughout the weekend.
“We transform our active studio spaces into gallery display tables to showcase finely crafted works,” said Meg Billingham, director of ceramics at the center, in a news release. “It is exciting because so much of the work sold at the sale is made directly within the walls of the community center. It truly is magical to see the creations of our amazing community!”
The market offers an artistic community of inclusion for all gender, sexuality, race and ethnicity identities. Sonoma Community Center is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment where artists of all backgrounds and abilities can thrive.
This is a benefit for the center, with a portion of sales made by the artists donated to arts programming and community events.
