Newmark Retail’s London-based strategic retail property consultancy team has secured a prime location in Spain for Columbia Sportswear Company, supporting the brand’s expansion throughout Europe.
The new 260m² single-level store in Bilbao is positioned in the heart of the Barakaldo Fashion Outlet, the largest fashion mall in the North of Spain, operated by Neinver on behalf of Grupo Lar. The store sits alongside other world-leading fashion and sportswear brands including Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Skechers and Levi’s.
Newmark Retail and Columbia have worked together for 15 years, and the retail property consultant has helped secure 25 locations for the sportswear, outdoor wear and footwear manufacturer and distributor across Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands and the UK. Founded in Oregon in 1938, Columbia has over 450 stores and supplies more than 6,000 wholesale customers across 90 countries worldwide.
As the exclusive leasing advisor for Columbia’s continued expansion in Europe, Newmark Retail will support the brand in opening six outlet stores across the continent 2023, most recently opening the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet store, Cheshire, UK, in April.
