A wine education company is opening a storefront in downtown Boise.
House of Wine is setting up shop at 1008 W. Main Street.
House of Wine offers wine a variety of wine courses for professionals and enthusiasts. They are taught by founder and owner Kathryn McClaskey, who has worked in the wine industry for 20 years, including as a wine production consultant for numerous wineries.
The new store will be focused on both retail and classroom experiences. It will feature a tasting “classroom” and a shop with a variety of bottles.
“It should be a wonderful addition to downtown and we are excited for this new journey and our ability to share it with the Treasure Valley community,” founder Kathryn McClaskey said.
According to a news release, the shop will be arranged in a “progressive” manner with wines arranged by style rather than specific varieties or regions.
“This will allow our customers to enjoy the wines they’ve come to know and love and discover new, exciting wines as well,” the release said.
The new store is expected to open in November.
In anticipation of the new shop, House of Wine will be holding a wine tasting and preview event at Crane Creek Country Club on August 31. There will be two sessions, one at 6 p.m. and one at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased online.
