We are looking for a chemical formulation and testing technician to support the development of the next generation of 3D Polymers printing technologies. The laboratory in which the opening exists is involved in formulating and characterizing the properties of high-performance inks, and optimize ink-media interactions.
Applies extensive knowledge the job skills, company policies and procedures to complete complex, specialized assignments/tasks in creative and effective ways. Comprehensive understanding of the general/technical aspects of the job. Works on assignments that are complex in nature and require considerable judgment, initiative, and technical/specialized knowledge to resolve problems and/or develop recommended solutions. Work is completed with minimal supervision and assignments may be completed without established procedures. May determine methods and procedures for new assignments. Typically provides guidance to other non- exempt employees.
Job Responsibilities
- Should be recognized as an expert on at least one type of analytical instrument and analytical protocol
- Ideal having a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences/chemistry
- 4-6 experience of experience operating chemical lab analytical equipment
- Expert knowledge of routine chemical laboratory procedures, equipment, chemical nomenclature, chemical handling and safety.
- Preparing formulation and sample mixtures.
- Analyzing inks, samples, and their chemical components for their basic chemical and physical properties.
- Able to collaborate effectively with management, coworkers, customers and suppliers to support formulation and analytical work.
- Provide support to chemists and/or engineers in initiatives such as routine and non-routine testing, new method development, quality improvement projects.
- Investigate and evaluate new methods for formulating and characterizing materials.
- Perform basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure lab housekeeping and that all work carried out conforms with safety requirements.
- Assist in lab data processing and reporting.
- Act as tooling curator – writing and maintaining process instruction and calibration procedures for instruments.
- Training incoming staff for lab activities and testing.
- Assisting the lab supervisor in planning lab resource usage.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently to achieve desired results from general objectives
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work efficiently and handle workload and schedule pressures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Competent on analytical problem solving, self-driven and able to work well in a team setting
- Ability and willing to undergo knowledge-transfer training with chemists or engineers
